As you would expect there are lots of places to stay in and around Babbacombe. Accommodation can be found on both sides the road which winds down through Babbacombe to Torquay from St. Marychurch. Babbacombe Downs has an excellent selection of hotels which run behind the green and face out across Lyme Bay to Teignmouth and beyond. The views are stunning and the ambience is great. There are restaurants and bars all very close by and the beaches can be reached by a short walk or a trip down the famous funicular railway. Babbacombe Theatre and the new Cary Arms hotel and restaurant (De-Savary) are only a few minutes down the hill toward Babbacombe beach. This is a very steep hill and may not be suitable for those who may not be too well conditioned! We have provided a search function for online booking of hotels in Babbacombe, with discounts available.

  • Beaches - Babbacombe

    line
A lot of people come to Babbacombe and Torquay for the beaches. With a plethora of good beaches, Babbacombe is not exception. Babbacombe beach itself is small and rocky however and the much larger Oddicombe beach is the one that is more familiar to most people. Babbacombe beach is very popular with divers and fishermen, with the small "harbour" wall seeing good catches of mackerel in the summer months. You can walk between the two beaches, with Oddicombe being the alighting point for the Funicular railway down from Babbacombe Downs.
